Acne formation in a teenager
During our teens, the body produces male hormones called androgens. The hormone secretes itself more in a male body than in a female body. The hair follicles of the skin have oil glands that produce sebum, which helps in the formation of a protective shield on the skin. With the secretion of androgens, the oil glands begin to produce more oil that joins the dead cells to form lumps on the skin. This lump when enters one’s pores collects bacteria and oil inside it. With production of more oil, the hair follicle swells up whereby the white blood cells attack the bacteria resulting in reddish humps. This leads to acne in teenagers
